History of Louisiana Hiking Trails
1973 — Pierre E. Conner, III, a member of BSA Troop 229 in Baton Rouge, designs the Capitol Historical Trail as part of his Eagle Scout project.
February 1975 — The organization's articles of incorporation were approved and filed with the State of Louisiana, thus creating Louisiana Hiking Trails as an official Louisiana corporation.
August 1975 — The IRS grants 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status to Louisiana Hiking Trails, Inc.
June 2010 — LHT website created.
